Clean taps and dispensers to avoid leaks

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

The most common cause of a leak is algae. It is enough to stop a tap from closing properly and create a slow leak.

Because the water is alive and not chlorinated, heat and light will grow algae in your water. So to avoid algae growth, minimise heat and light as well as don’t have the bottles sitting around too long (stagnant). We suggest only ordering enough water to last 4 to 8 weeks maximum.

You should undo and look inside your taps and pots every 3-6 months for green algae.

To clean, soak for an hour in sodium bicarbonate (baking powder) and vinegar. This is a non residual cleaning solution which will rinse off with water and not leave anything behind.
